OUR recent trip to Las Vegas was indeed full of surprises – good surprises! The first surprise (at least to me) was a dinner reservation made by my husband at Gallagher’s Steakhouse in New York-New York Hotel Casino. SPANISH are so passionate about their Tapas Culture. Tapas are small, bite-size appetizers or snacks served in Spanish bars and cafés throughout the day. In Madrid and some provinces in Spain, a tapa usually comes free with the drink. It is very typical to see customers standing at bars nibbling those little morsels and drinking caña (beer) or mosto (grape juice).

FOUR Christmases ago, I was fortunate to be gifted an Asian cruise package onboard Star Cruises. We flew to Singapore where we boarded the ship that would take us to Malaysia and Thailand. A couple of days in Singapore before and after the cruise gave us ample time to stroll around the city and savor its diverse cuisine.
